This class is reading and discussing Brian McLaren's book Everything
Must Change,
in which the author discusses how the life and teachings of Jesus address the
most critical global problems in the world today.
Disciple: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study
Facilitated by Nancy Dougherty • Thursdays at 6:30

Disciple is a long-term, 34-week course which covers the entire Bible
(Old and New Testaments) chronologically, following the complete story of the
relationship between God and His children. Participants grow committed to making
transformations in their lives as they learn 34 Marks of Discipleship. There
is daily Bible reading and study as well as weekly small-group presentations.
Through this study, participants will understand the Word, develop daily spiritual
disciplines, and find community. Limited to 10 members.
His Helping Hands (HHH)
Meets every first and third Thursday at 1:30 pm in the Conference Room
This groups meets at the church for devotions, then departs in pairs to visit
our shut-in church members, bringing them fellowship, small gifts and good
cheer. The group then reconvenes at a local restaurant for dinner.
Chancel Choir
Rehearsal
every Wednesday at 6:30 pm in the Chapel
You are invited to lend your voice to our church choir, which is led by Martha
Campbell. Come have fun and fellowship with other members as we practice
to lead our congregation in worship on Sunday mornings.
Sewing With The Spirit (Quilting Group)
Meets every Monday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in the Church Parlor
The quilting group constructs quilts that are donated to the homeless, domestic
abuse shelters, and migrant farm workers. To date, dozens of quilts have been
given to those in need. All skill levels (even absolute beginners) are welcome
to participate in this group.
Needles (Needlework Group)
Meets every Thursday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm in the Church Parlor
Every week the talented needleworkers of the church unite for two hours of
fellowship and sharing creative projects. Please contact Thora Colenso or Carolyn
Smith for more information on this group.
United Methodist Women and Circle Groups
United Methodist Women is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ. They have a support fellowship while expanding concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. This ministry is open to any woman who has a desire to belong and participate in the outreach mission of the church. There are several Women's Circles to choose from:
